Media Advisory: Nov. 3 grand opening of Community Technology Center at Eurma C. Hayes Center
CARBONDALE, Ill. — The grand opening of the Community Technology Center at the Eurma C. Hayes Community Center, 441 E. Willow St., will take place at 3 p.m. Nov. 3. The CTC, supported by Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will provide access to a broadband connection, loaner tablet computers, use of a printer, technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs, seminars and more.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to cover the event. SIU Carbondale Chancellor Austin A. Lane and Bob Wills, executive director of the Eurma C. Hayes Community Center, will sign a memorandum of understanding in the center’s gym. Tours of the CTC will follow. Lane and Wills will be available for interviews.
Funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Broadband READY program, in partnership with the Illinois Innovation Network.
