WSIU to hold free film screening on Sunday
WSIU Public Broadcasting and the Carbondale Public Library will hold the first of four Indie Lens Pop-Up film screenings at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, with the film “Move Me.” The film is an intimate look from first-time filmmaker and dancer Kelsey Peterson as she documents her journey after a 2012 spinal cord injury. The screening is free at the Carbondale Public Library, 405 W. Main St. After the film, organizers will hold a conversation aimed at expanding the understanding of disability and ableism, the importance of art and creative expression for healing and connection, and exploring ways to make the world more inclusive and accessible. The program is free and open to the public; individuals with disabilities are welcomed and accommodations are available by calling 618-453-4344.
