Media advisory: Agreement between SIU and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois
CARBONDALE, Ill. — Reporters and news crews are invited to attend a signing ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 4, for a new agreement between Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois. The pact will provide mentoring and educational opportunities, summer camps, volunteer and internship opportunities, financial assistance for youths and BGCSI staff, and collaboration between the university and the organization.
The signing ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois administrative office, 101 S. Lewis Lane, Carbondale. Participants from SIU will include Chancellor Austin A. Lane and Jeffery T. Burgin, Jr., vice chancellor for student affairs. Tina Carpenter, Boys & Girls Club of Southern Illinois chief executive officer, along with board and staff members will also be present.
