Campus community invited to join in Sept. 27 event fostering first generation success

Faculty, staff and students are invited to a virtual event focusing on fostering success for first generation professionals.

“The First Gen’s Guide to Corporate America” is set for 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 via Zoom. The College of Business and Analytics’ Office of Diversity and Inclusion is sponsoring the free event.

Carla Santamaria, a Honduran-born immigrant, first-generation professional, career strategist and the founder of First Gen Coaching and Consulting, will share tips and insights. She will discuss navigating corporate America as a first-generation professional, how professionals can advance their careers, what allyship looks like and how people can support first-gen professionals. Organizers say the conversation will be inspirational, motivational and filled with wisdom.
