‘Event Planning 101’ is June 29
Faculty, staff, students and the community are encouraged to attend a presentation and discussion on tips for planning events at SIU Carbondale during a free workshop on June 29 in the Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge at Old Main.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the presentation starting at noon. Sarah VanVooren from Conference and Scheduling Services and Gena Albert from University Events and Protocol are hosting the workshop. Those attending the free workshop are welcome to bring their lunch or purchase food from the Student Center dining on the first floor.
The workshop will cover:
- Basic event planning tips.
- Planning for large and small-scale events.
- SIU-specific event planning procedures and resources.
- How to create the right look and feel for your event.
- Safety and accessibility factors in event planning.
