SIU encourages business professionals to learn about new resource on April 26

by Kamaria Harmon

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development is inviting Illinois manufacturers, small businesses and entrepreneurs to learn about a tool on how to access and leverage university resources.

This is an online event on April 26 from noon to 1 pm. Registration is free and available on University Resources by Research Enabled Eventbrite website.

The event will provide participants with expertise, information on different facilities and equipment for their research needs. If you believe that your company could benefit from the faculty or facilities within the university programs to apply for research funding, foundation grants or other needs, then this program is for you. Your research does not need to be limited to STEM applications but could be a host of needs in other aspects of your business.

The Research Enabled platform is funded by an Economic Development Administration i6 Challenge award to the University of Missouri System and the Southern Illinois University System. Efforts are underway to expand this program to additional universities throughout the region and deeper into Illinois.

The new Illinois budget includes $3 million to help businesses collaborate with universities. This platform helps businesses, of all different sizes, build connections.
