Open forums set with SIU Global Campus executive director finalists

Four candidates for executive director of SIU Global Campus at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will meet with faculty and staff during a series of open forums beginning Monday, April 11. 

The candidates, in alphabetical order, are:

  • Julie Dunston, interim executive director, Extended Campus, and director, School of Applied Engineering and Technology, SIU Carbondale.
  • Ben Latigo, former chief academic officer and interim executive director, University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland, California, Maryland.
  • John Nworie, executive director, Office of Distance Education and Online Learning, Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama.
  • Susan Wegmann, associate dean of digital learning and innovation, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas.

During their respective forums, each candidate will discuss their “Vision for SIU Online Presence in the 21st Century” and goals for the global campus. A Q&A will follow each of the presentations. The forums give university faculty and staff an opportunity to meet with the candidates and ask questions about their proposed approaches to the position. The open forums are in conjunction with each of the candidates’ interviews. 

Each of the open forums will be from 3 to 4 p.m. in Morris Library, with the presentations also available virtually via Zoom.
