Virtual workshop will help faculty, staff and students cope with stress
Sky@SIUC, a registered student organization, is hosting its 14th SKY Happiness Retreat Feb. 18-20, and the virtual retreat will focus on helping participants handle stress by promoting connectedness, self-care and the mental well-being of students, faculty and staff.
The nine-hour virtual SKY Happiness Retreat workshop is a nationally acclaimed program via Zoom featuring breath work, interactive group activities, experiential learning, evidence-based meditation, yoga, emotional intelligence training and other experiences.
Trained SIU faculty and students are among the leaders. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 19-20. Subsidized seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis for students, faculty and staff by advance registration online with attendance required at all sessions.
Event organizers indicate that 120 SIU students and faculty participated in retreats last year. There are 25 scholarships available.
