Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge schedule for January
The Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge at Old Main will reopen for the spring semester and include special hosts.
Opened in September, the lounge is a place for faculty and staff to meet in an informal setting and get to know one another across departments. The faculty-staff lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and people are invited to bring their lunch or purchase food from the Student Center dining on the first floor.
Anyone interested in reserving the faculty-staff lounge for an event, or who would like to serve as a host, can email events@siu.edu.
The hosts for the month are:
- Monday, Jan. 10 — Open lunch.
- Wednesday, Jan. 12 — Open lunch.
- Friday, Jan. 14 — Open lunch.
- Monday, Jan. 17 — CLOSED for Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
- Jan. 19 — Open lunch.
- Jan 21 — CLOSED for previously scheduled event.
- Jan. 24 — Amanda Sutton, interim director, Undergraduate Admissions.
- Jan. 26 — Renada Greer, assistant dean of students, director, Student Support Services, and Black Staff and Faculty Council.
- Jan. 28 — Kip Leverton of Morgan Stanley, 403b Supplemental Retirement Q&A
- Jan. 31 — Jaime Conley-Holt, director, Career Development Center.
All sessions are casual and intended for participants to come and go as they are able. The hosts listed will be available for networking, questions, or (when noted) to facilitate activities.
