Civil service advisory committee to the merit board election set

The election for the university’s representative to the State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee to the Merit Board is Thursday, Nov. 18. 

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in two locations – the north end of the Student Center first floor and the Student Recreation Center’s Alumni Lounge. 

The list of individuals who filed nominating petitions along with their credentials can be found in the announcements section of the Department of Human Resources website. 

All civil service employees, excluding temporary, provisional, student, and extra help, are eligible to vote in this election.  Each voter must present their civil service staff identification card at the polling place to authenticate his or her employment at SIU Carbondale. 

A maximum of one hour will be granted to all civil service employees without loss of pay for voting privileges in this election.  Scheduling of absence from the job will be at the discretion of the departmental supervisor.
