Media advisory: 300+ students registered for SIU open house on Nov. 6
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to cover Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s in-person open house for prospective students on Saturday, Nov. 6. More than 300 students have registered for the free event for Salukis who will be new to SIU in fall 2022 or later and their families.
The event will be based at the Student Recreation Center and include games, a student panel, campus tours, housing tours, academic showcases and a resource fair. Check in begins at 7:30 a.m. An early bird tram tour will take place from 7:45-8:15 a.m. The program starts at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude by noon. University leaders, faculty and staff will be on site to answer any questions. For a schedule of activities, visit the Admissions website.
