Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge schedule for the rest of the fall 2021 semester
The Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge at Old Main has a variety of events and special hosts on the schedule for the rest of the fall 2021 semester.
Opened in September, the lounge is a place for faculty and staff to meet in an informal setting and get to know one another across departments. The faculty-staff lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and people are invited to bring their lunch or purchase food from the Student Center dining on the first floor.
The speakers and open lunch hosts for the month are:
- Monday, Nov. 1 — Black Staff and Faculty Professional Development Series.
- Wednesday, Nov. 3 — Jerry Kruse, dean and provost, SIU School of Medicine, and Andrew Balkansky, dean, College of Liberal Arts.
- Friday, Nov. 5 — CLOSED for a previously scheduled event.
- Nov. 8 — Terry Clark, dean, College of Business and Analytics, and Segun Ojewuyi, dean, College of Arts and Media.
- Nov. 10 — Open lunch.
- Nov. 12 — Special performances from Bachelor of Fine Arts Musical Theater students.
- Nov. 15 — CLOSED for a previously scheduled event.
- Nov. 17 — Cecil Smith, dean, School of Education, and Robert Morgan, dean, College of Health and Human Sciences.
- Nov. 19 — Cindy Stein, Saluki women’s basketball coach.
- Nov. 22 — Open lunch.
- Nov. 24 — Open lunch.
- Nov. 26 — CLOSED for Thanksgiving holiday.
- Nov. 29 — Open lunch.
- Dec. 1 — A/P Staff Council constituency luncheon.
All sessions are casual and intended for participants to come and go as they are able. The hosts listed will be available for networking, questions, or (when noted) to facilitate activities.
