Civil Service advisory committee petitions available

University civil service employees have until Oct. 25 to petition for election to the State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee. One civil service employee will be elected to serve on the committee for a four-year term from Jan.1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2025.

The election will be Nov. 18. To be eligible, candidates must be a certified status civil service employee with an appointment at SIU Carbondale, and a minimum of three consecutive years of civil service employment in an institution currently served by the State Universities Civil Service System.

A link to the petition and statement of candidacy for will be available beginning Oct. 15 on the Department of Human Resources website under announcements. Completed forms must be submitted to Human Resources via campus mail or fax to 618-453-1353 by Oct. 25.
