Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge schedule
A variety of university faculty and staff highlight the October schedule for the Chancellor’s Faculty-Staff Lounge at Old Main.
Opened in September, the lounge is a place for faculty and staff to meet in an informal setting and get to know one another across departments. The faculty-staff lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and people are invited to bring their lunch or purchase food from the Student Center dining on the first floor.
The speakers and open lunch hosts for the month are:
- Monday, Oct. 4 – Jenise Wilson, director, undergraduate advisement.
- Wednesday, Oct. 6 – Open lunch.
- Oct. 8 – Open lunch.
- Oct. 11 – Homecoming kickoff in the Faner Plaza, with free food.
- Oct. 13 – Eric Brevik, dean, College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences, and Camille Davidson, dean, SIU School of Law.
- Oct. 15 – CLOSED for a previously scheduled event.
- Oct. 18 – Open lunch.
- Oct. 20 – John Pollitz, dean, Library Affairs.
- Oct. 22 – Open lunch with free craft from the Student Center Craft Shop.
- Oct. 25 – Xiaoqing “Frank” Liu, Dean of the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics.
- Oct. 27 – CLOSED for a previously scheduled event.
- Oct. 29 – CLOSED for a previously scheduled event.
All sessions are casual and intended for participants to come and go as they are able. The hosts listed will be available for networking, questions, or (when noted) to facilitate activities.
