SIU welcomes 26 new faculty this fall
The university is welcoming 26 new tenure-track faculty to campus for the fall 2021 semester.
Meera Komarraju, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, notes that the university added 30 new faculty and 21 new hires from fall semesters the previous two years.
“These new faculty were selected through national searches and represent the very best in their respective disciplines. The various disciplines of the new hires reflect the current and future areas of growth as evidenced by student interest and demand,” Komarraju said. “These talented new hires infuse our faculty base with their energy, enthusiasm, and expertise, engaging our students in their classrooms as well as research labs and creative activities.”
