Media Advisory – Inaugural Saluki Open Pickleball Tournament
Southern Illinois University Carbondale is hosting its inaugural Saluki Open Pickleball Tournament on the newly refurbished Saluki Stadium University Courts, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 6-8. The colorful, updated outdoor courts are on Marion Rushing Lane, adjacent to the north end of Saluki Stadium.
Tournament play will take place:
- 5-8:30 p.m. on Friday
- 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday
- 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Sunday
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome cover the action as more than 130 people, ages 12 and older, have registered to participate in the double-elimination event hosted by Recreational Sports and Services. There are divisions for men, women and mixed play at various skill levels as players are coming from hundreds of miles away to participate.
