Plant and Service Operations to be named Facilities and Energy Management
Starting July 1, Plant and Service Operations will be Facilities and Energy Management.
“The new name is a more modern and commonly used division name in today’s environment,” said Julie McReynolds, interim executive director for finance, “and it emphasizes the importance of energy utilization and management.”
About 300 employees work in facilities and energy management. The units will include building maintenance, grounds maintenance, building services, engineering and construction management, facility operations center (24/7), building automation, campus utilities and cogeneration facility.
The remaining units under Plant and Service Operations will move to a new unit titled Campus Service Operations. The units of travel service, printing and duplicating, and campus mail service will be joining surplus property and property control to form the new unit.
