University Communications and Marketing earns several awards

University Communications and Marketing earned several awards in the 36th Educational Advertising Awards competition.  

The annual competition had more than 2,000 entries from more than 1,000 educational institutions from all 50 states and several countries. Judges for the awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, and marketing and advertising professionals.  

The winners, with the category and entry, are:  


  • Television advertising ­– single spot: It’s Our Turn 2020.
  • Blog sites: “This is SIU.” 


  • Outdoor: “That’s a Saluki” Midwest billboards. 

In addition, SIU Carbondale earned a silver award in the General-Regional TV category for its “SIU ­– It’s Our Turn” campaign in the 42nd annual Telly Awards competition.
