Vaccines available for faculty, staff and students

Faculty, staff and students are reminded that the Jackson County Health Department is providing vaccinations for any Illinois resident age 16 and older, including SIU students from Illinois and outside the state. The health department has scheduled walk-in clinics for this week.

Walk-in clinics for Pfizer vaccinations will be today, April 5, and Tuesday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center and Banterra Center. For more information, visit the Jackson County Health Department website or call 618-684-3143.

For students, receiving a first shot now will allow time to get a second shot before going home for the summer and help each of us reach the goal of returning to normal.

The health department is responsible for vaccinations. The university is collaborating with and assisting local health agencies.
