Media Advisory – Chancellor Lane to participate in ‘Support Our Salukis’ campus walk
Southern Illinois University Carbondale Chancellor Austin A. Lane and members of the university’s Leadership Council will participate in a “Support Our Salukis” campus walk beginning at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to the campus walk, which will be held weather permitting. The walk is to provide students with positive reinforcement by thanking them for wearing masks and engaging in social distancing, while also talking with them about how the fall 2020 semester is going and answering any questions they might have.
Chancellor Lane will make brief remarks at 11 a.m. at the front of Anthony Hall, located on the east side of the building by the parking lot. Chancellor Lane and other university officials will then break into smaller groups to walk around campus, meet and talk with students, and thank them for being a Saluki.
Again, the event is weather permitting.
