Student Employment is implementing added guidelines this fall
With the start of the fall semester just days away, Student Employment is implementing additional guidelines regarding student employment.
The changes include:
Hiring packets/supplemental timecards
To mitigate foot traffic to the office throughout the week, paperwork will be accepted in person on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the semester, starting Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Students may turn in their hiring paperwork at the station located outside of the Career Development Center on the first floor of the Student Services Building. This will allow students who are waiting in line to properly social distance, and it will enable the department to sanitize between students. Masks will be required when students turn in hiring packets. Once the packets are submitted, Career Services will provide the student with their supplemental time card.
Please note: Make sure students do not begin working before they are provided a supplemental time card.
Student Employees Returning to Work
Departments are to follow the university return-to-work guidelines for student employees. Please make sure all health guidelines are followed to ensure the wellness of our student employees. More information on the guidelines is at siu.edu/coronavirus/fall2020/.
Job Postings in Handshake
If a department fills a job posting before the expiration date, please notify the student employment office to remove the posting. This will help give students an accurate representation of the available positions on campus.
