Student Health Center to host Red Cross Blood Drive
The Student Health Center will host a Red Cross Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 31, in the auditorium.
Those interested are asked to schedule a donation time through the Red Cross website and use the sponsor code SIUCStudentHealthCtr. Donation times are being set up to the Red Cross can accommodate everyone utilizing proper COVID-19 protocols and social distancing standards.
According to the organization, every unit of donated blood can help save up to three lives. The drive collection goal is 30 pints of blood. Typical donations take less than one hour.
On July 31, scheduled donors may shorten their wait time by showing a QR code to registration at the door at redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/manage-my-donations/rapidpass.html. Donors are required to wear a mask during their donation. A mask will be provided to donors who do not have one.
