Media Advisory – SIU Day of Giving
The SIU community will come together on Wednesday, March 4, for the fourth annual SIU Day of Giving.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are invited to cover the event, including remarks by Chancellor John Dunn at 2 p.m. in Morris Library’s first floor rotunda.
The SIU Day of Giving is a 24-hour fundraising campaign that allows supporters of the university to donate online at siuday.siu.edu to the area of campus of their choice. The campaign begins at 6 a.m. Wednesday and runs through 5:59 a.m. on Thursday.
A year ago, nearly $912,000 was raised for scholarships, programs and other SIU priorities from nearly 3,000 gifts from 46 states and 10 countries. In three years, more than $1.7 million has been raised.
