Deadline for student energy-related research opportunities is Friday

Faculty and staff are asked to remind students of two research opportunities available for those who are interested in energy-related programs.

The application deadline for both programs is Friday, Dec. 6.

Students can apply online for:

Green Office Sleuths: Green Office Sleuths, or Student Led Energy-Use Treasure Hunts is a semester-long externship for undergraduate or graduate students in any major. Students will explore best practices for energy efficiency and determine ways for campus offices to implement programs to increase energy efficiency, recycling and conservation. The program will run during the spring 2020 semester. Students receive a certificate and $500 stipend upon completion.

  • The Energy Boost Scholars program engages undergraduate students in faculty-mentored, hands-on research activities and had a $500 stipend upon completion. The project is also for the spring 2020 semester. Students explore their intended majors or areas of interest and develop valuable research and critical thinking skills.
