Media advisory – SIU’s 150th Anniversary roadshow visits Marion

SIU Carbondale’s state-wide road show celebrating its 150th anniversary continues in Marion on Thursday, Nov. 7. Chancellor John M. Dunn will host alumni and friends at the Miner’s Stadium Diamond Club from 6 to 8 p.m. Former Chancellor John Jackson will sign copies of the anniversary book “Southern Illinois University at 150 Years: Growth, Accomplishments and Challenges.” 

This is the ninth stop for the road show, which will make more than 25 stops during the university’s 150th anniversary year, which concludes in March 2020. 

To date, the show has been to Pinckneyville, Springfield, Du Quoin, Effingham, Mattoon, Champaign, Decatur and Cobden. Chicago, St. Louis, Rockford, Marion, Galena and Quincy are among the other cities on the roadshow tour. Events to connect with alumni and friends are also planned for Los Angeles, California; Naples, Florida; and New York City.
