‘Film Fridays’ close out semester with three films in November

As the semester winds down, three more films from outside the United States will be shown and discussed at “Film Fridays.” 

Presented by the Department of Cinema and Photography, the free films also receive the perspective of graduate students in the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts. The film screenings start at 4 p.m. and are shown in Lawson Hall, Room 131. 

All screenings are free and open to the public. 

Remaining schedule for fall 2019

The schedule, with film, country of origin, year, director and curator, is: 

  • Nov. 1 – “Nevesta (The Bride),” Russia, 2017, directed by Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy; presented by Khara Lukanic, doctoral student.
  • Nov. 8 – “Once Upon a Time in the West,” Italy, 1968, directed by Sergio Leone; presented by Khara Lukanic, doctoral student.
  • Nov. 15 – “The Death of Stalin,” United Kingdom, 2017, directed by Armando Iannucci; presented by Justin Zairian, doctoral student.
