Annuitants fall meeting is set for Oct. 24
All university employees and retirees are invited to attend the fall meeting of the SIUC Annuitants Association, Oct. 24, in the SIU School of Law Hiram H. Lesar Building auditorium.
The meeting begins at 4:45 p.m. Admission is free and pre-registration is not required.
Linda Brookhart, executive director and in-house lobbyist for the State Universities Annuitants Association (SUAA) will discuss challenges facing the State Universities Retirement System and its participants. Legislative discussions regarding pension reform and potential changes could have an impact on retirement benefits of current faculty and staff, as well as retirees.
Brookhart has more than 30 years of experience in association management and has been SUAA director for 12½ years. She also has 12 years of experience managing the organization’s Political Action Committee (SUAAction).
The SIUC Annuitants Association encourages everyone to attend, learn what is happening and how possible changes could affect them. A reception with appetizers and beverages will follow in the law school lounge.
