Media advisory – SIU to kickoff 150th Anniversary roadshow Thursday

SIU Carbondale kicks of a state-wide road show celebrating its 150th anniversary on Thursday, August 8, in Pinckneyville. Chancellor John M. Dunn, a Pinckneyville native, will host alumni, friends and dignitaries. John Jackson will sign copies of the book "Southern Illinois University at 150 years."  

This inaugural event for SIU's 150 Road Show takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pyramid State Park Multipurpose Building. Reporters are welcome to cover the event. For more information, contact Rae Goldsmith, 618-303-9997 (cell).  

DIRECTIONS TO PYRAMID STATE PARK MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING

FROM PINCKNEYVILLE: Take State Route 154 west to State Route 150. Take State Route 150 through Cutler to Trico Road. Go south on Trico Road to the intersection of Pyatt-Cutler Road. Turn east/left onto Pyatt-Cutler Road and continue for approximately 3.5 miles. Turn south/right onto Tangen Cemetery Road and follow to the multipurpose building.

FROM MURPHYSBORO AREA: Take Route 4 west through Ava and Campbell Hill to Pyatt-Cutler Road (across from Scuttle Inn). Turn east/right onto Pyatt-Cutler Road and go approximately 5.5 miles to Tangen Cemetery Road. Turn south/right onto Tangen Cemetery Road and follow to the multipurpose building.
