Career Development Center now handling all types of student employment
The university’s Career Development Center is the one-stop location for all types of student employment. The Student Employment Office (SEO) is now housed within the Career Development Center, in the Student Services Building, Suite 110.
SEO was previously located on building’s student floor and campus student jobs were handled through the Financial Aid Office.
The change enables students to see all employment and internship opportunities – whether within the university or at external locations with companies that recruit Salukis – in one spot. The new telephone number is 618/453-2391; calls will be forwarded from the previous number during the transition. The studentemployment@siu.edu email remains valid.
Campus departments will still complete the form on the SEO website to post student jobs and the information will be transferred to the “Hire a Saluki” platform, powered by Handshake. This is the single sign-on system students already use to view and apply for external employment opportunities and internships. If you hire student workers on campus, you can now receive the student applications via your campus email.
