New network access system will go live this weekend

The university’s new Identity and Access Management (IAM) system is scheduled to go live this weekend and be in place on Monday. This system manages network IDs and gives faculty, staff and students access to computing resources on campus.

Transition to the new system is expected to be seamless for current users. Network ID accounts and passwords will remain the same and the Office of Information Technology will move users’ attached information to their accounts.

Users should update their Network ID passwords if it is near expiration and to verify email and telephone information for password retrieval, if needed. The changes can be made at netid.siu.edu until Friday when the existing system will be shut down.

After IAM installation is complete, users will see a new self-service interface at netid.siu.edu/self-service. Contact SalukiTech at 453-5155 or salukitech@siu.edu if there are questions about the change or technical issues with accounts, passwords or network access.
