‘Fourth Friday Fair’ volunteers needed

Want an opportunity to spread the word about the great things happening on campus and promote the university’s 150th anniversary?

The Carbondale Community Fourth Friday Fair will feature live music, a food court and kids activities on one Friday each month until October. It starts this Friday, with a Bike Rodeo theme. The fair will be from 6 to 9 p.m. in Carbondale’s Town Square Pavilion.

In addition to promoting the university, volunteers will pass out numerous Salukis goodies including pins and window clings. To volunteer, contact Amy Fox, Carbondale public relations officer, at 618/457-3262 or afox@explorecarbondale.com.

The schedule is:

  • May 24 – “Bike Month” – Bike Rodeo.
  • June 28 – Jammin’ June – Music, games and a bounce house.
  • July 26 – “Beat the Heat” – Dunk tank and water activities.
  • Aug. 23 – “Pups Night Out” – Win back-to-school prizes and dogs are welcome.
  • Sept. 20 – “Fall Harvest” – A third Friday Fair, the evening will feature a bounce house, photo booth and kids’ activities.
  • Oct. 25 – “Dia De Los Muertos” – SI CABE Fandango.
