Media Advisory – U.S. Air Force ROTC ‘Pass-in-Review’
Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Detachment 205 will hold its “Pass-in-Review” at 6 p.m. Friday at Saluki Stadium.
Approximately 60 cadets will participate in the exercise. The original purpose of the “Pass-in-Review” was to parade forces before a commanding general to indicate a troop’s readiness to go into battle. The tradition is now a formal military ceremony that displays a detachment’s strength and unity, while also promoting teamwork and pride within the organization.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the event. Cadets and officers from Detachment 205 will be available for interviews after the ceremony.
