Earth Day celebration includes puppet parade, walk for climate change solutions
Faculty and students, along with SIU Sustainability and the Touch of Nature Environmental Center are among sponsors of an Earth Day event on Monday at Turley Park in Carbondale.
The 6th annual all-species puppet parade starts at 4:30 p.m. with participants meeting at the Life Community Center, 2500 W. Sunset Drive. The celebration at Turley Park starts at 5 p.m. and features hands-on activities and games organized by Touch of Nature and the Carbondale Park District. The celebration will be of all species: plants, amphibians, mammals and birds.
Sponsors include Beloved Puppetistas, SIU Sustainability, Touch of Nature Environmental Center and Carbondale Community Arts.
