New opportunities for students

Meera Komarraju, provost and vice chancellor,  Jennifer DeHaemers, associate chancellor of enrollment management, Josi Rawls, program articulation and outreach coordinator and Sandy Pensoneau-Conway, communication studies department chair, represented SIU at the signing ceremony.

“SIU Carbondale is very pleased to be partnering with Kaskaskia College on these new agreements,” DeHaemers said. “This partnership, which provides another pathway to career readiness and advancement, is really important to both institutions as well as the students.”

The agreement outlines which courses are required at both institutions to allow for transfers and make the transition as smooth as possible for students. Similar agreements already exist between SIU and Kaskaskia, with agreements in programs including business, criminal justice and animal science and technical resource management.
