Media Advisory – Fall 2018 Commencement Ceremony
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover commencement ceremonies Saturday at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Nearly 1,300 professional, graduate and undergraduate students are candidates for degrees.
Many times out-of-town guests turn to local media outlets to confirm commencement schedules. We would appreciate your help in sharing this schedule with your audiences. Graduation ceremonies are open to the public and tickets are not required.
The commencement ceremony for all colleges including the SIU School of Law begins at 2 p.m. at the SIU Arena.
Media representatives are welcome to shoot video or photographs from around the stage but cannot impede graduates getting to their seats or to the stage. Once the ceremony has started, please enter through the north SIU Arena doors. Media cannot be backstage during the processional.
