Learn how businesses can use Google Analytics at SIU’s SBDC

CARBONDALE, Ill. — How can small business owners calculate the effectiveness of their marketing and advertising efforts?

Google Analytics is one effective tool and Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Small Business Development Center is offering a Google Analytics Training session on Dec. 7. The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Illinois Small Business Development Center, 1740 Innovation Drive in Carbondale.

Various topics covered

The class will focus on Internet/web training and marketing and sales. The training will help participants learn how to use the reports and information Google Analytics generates.

Learn to use the audience reporting, acquisition reports and behavior reporting to discover who is visiting a website, how visitors found the site, and what visitors did while on the site.

A live instructor, certified in Google Analytics, will teach the class. Using hands-on exercises, he will help those attending generate reports that meet the needs of their specific businesses or organizations. The emphasis is on learning practical skills and participants should bring a laptop. Those who don’t already have a Google Analytics account will find out how to set one up and be provided with a fully functional demonstration account to use in class.

The class is limited to 10 people to assure each gets individualized attention and assistance with their own specific sites. The cost is $30 and includes lunch and all instruction.
