Law school to show documentary on Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Thursday

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The SIU School of Law will host a free screening Thursday of the 2018 documentary “RBG,” a glimpse at the life and career of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The screening is sponsored by the law school and several of its registered student organizations.

With a run time of 97 minutes, the film profiles Ginsberg’s life and rise to the nation’s highest court. The film will be shown in the Hiram H. Lesar Building Auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

The screening free and open to the public.

President Bill Clinton nominated Ginsburg to be an associate justice and she was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 1993. Ginsburg is now the second-longest tenured justice on the present nine-member court behind associate justice Clarence Thomas.
