Media Availability – Pilot Development Program with Air Wisconsin and SIU
Representatives of Air Wisconsin Airlines and Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s nationally recognized aviation program will be gathering at the Southern Illinois Airport at 9 a.m., Sept. 6, to announce their partnership and the introduction of a new pilot development agreement.
The program will be on the ramp area north of the Transportation Education Center at Southern Illinois Airport, between Carbondale and Murphysboro. In the event of inclement weather, the media availability will be TEC multipurpose room.
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover the event. In addition to representatives from the university and Air Wisconsin, SIU Carbondale aviation students, faculty and staff will be available to discuss the program.
Among those present at the event will be Michael Burgener, interim chair, Department of Aviation Management and Flight; José Ruiz, professor, Aviation Management and Flight, and from Air Wisconsin Airlines, Tim Genc, director of Pilot Recruitment and Michael Perrizo, managing director of Flight Operations.
