Disability Support Services now in Student Health Center
SIU has a longstanding commitment to serving students with disabilities and as the number of students served by Disability Support Services continues to grow, the office recently relocated to Suite 220 in the Student Health Center, where it can even better meet the needs of students.
According to Lisa Caringer, DSS director, the new location is within a building dedicated to student services better enables the office to provide students with comprehensive, easily accessible amenities including:
- A dedicated reception space.
- A quiet proctoring wing.
- Ample parking and easy accessibility via Saluki Express; the Thompson Point Direct route stops at the building.
- Easy access to Counseling and Psychological Services as well as other Student Health Center services.
DSS staff members provide support services to students with all types of disabilities and also works closely with faculty and staff to assure that courses, buildings, online classes and resources and other facets of the university are equally accessible for all students.
The contact information for DSS remains the same:
- Telephone – 618/453-5738.
