Calling all Salukis to Du Quoin State Fair
Once again there will be a Saluki presence during the Du Quoin State Fair, which opens Friday.
The festivities start with the annual Twilight Parade to open the fair, starting at 6 p.m. Friday. The Marching Salukis, Saluki Shakers, Cheer Squad and Grey Dawg will be participating.
On Labor Day, Sept. 3, the fair celebrates SIU/College Day. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to midnight, and college students from any institution, with a valid ID, are admitted for free. All SIU faculty and staff with a valid ID also are admitted for free. There is still a $7 charge for parking on the main lot.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to have fun and wear maroon.
