Commencement exercises will celebrate success stories
Donald Cobb, Coleman Fitch and Sydne Rensing are three standout students who will join nearly 2,800 of their peers during graduation Friday and Saturday.
Cobb started law school within three days of moving back to the United States from Germany; Fitch will teach high school English, primarily to low-income, underserved students in St. Louis through the Teach for America program, and Rensing completed an in-depth research study and analysis on getting students involved in campus life as part of her work toward her master’s degree.
Cobb, Fitch and Rensing are each among the latest chapters of Saluki success stories.
Information on commencement exercises, honorary degree and distinguished service recipients is available.
Also, the sixth annual “Forever SIU: A Commencement Celebration” on Friday will celebrate the members of the Class of 2018 and their families. Festivities are from 5 to 10 p.m. in the Student Center, and will include food and drinks, dueling pianos, karaoke, bowling, billiards, photo booths and graduation craft projects to document memories.
