Media Advisory – ROTC Commissioning Ceremony

U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) will receive their commissions as second lieutenants into their respective military branches during ceremonies Friday at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend the ceremony at 11 a.m. in Student Center Ballroom B. The commissioned cadets will also participate in commencement exercises on Saturday at the SIU Arena.

Chancellor Carlo Montemagno will provide the keynote address.  Montemagno joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 and served in several management positions as a civil engineering corps officer working with the U.S. Department of Energy.
