Portions of Lincoln Drive near Student Center will close Friday morning
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Motorists driving through Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Lincoln Drive near the Student Center are encouraged to seek alternate routes between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 12.
The Department of Public Safety will periodically be closing Lincoln Drive between the Student Services Building and Travel Service as needed as a helicopter will be lifting and replacing a roof top ventilation unit on top of the Student Center. The work is part of the Steak ‘n Shake project.
The periodic road closures will be between five and 10 minutes at a time during that one hour or until work is finished. In addition, portions of parking lots 11 and 13 in front of the Student Center will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. and reopen once work is finished.
