Media Advisory – Fall 2017 Commencement
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to cover commencement ceremonies Saturday, Dec. 16, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. More than 860 professional, graduate and undergraduate students are candidates for degrees.
Many times out-of-town guests turn to local media outlets to confirm commencement schedules. We would appreciate your help in sharing this schedule with your audiences. Graduation ceremonies are open to the public and tickets are not required.
The commencement ceremony for all colleges including the SIU School of Law begins at 2 p.m. at the SIU Arena. More information, including on the keynote speaker Richard J. Mark, president of Ameren Illinois Companies, is available commencement.siu.edu. The ceremony will be available via livestream by clicking on the “Watch Live” button on the commencement.siu.edu website.
