‘Dr. Dystopia’ hits Kleinau stage this weekend
A show created by cast members will explore themes of “dystopia” and “utopia” in and beyond science fiction this week on the Kleinau Theatre stage, Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
Shows begin at 8 p.m. in the theater, which is in the Communications Building on the second floor.
The show is written and directed by doctoral students Jake Beck and Caleb R. McKinley-Portee. Interweaving the cast’s own personal narratives with the history of science fiction and other forms of speculation about the future the performance analyzes the different ways utopian and dystopian performance affect a social world and interacts with one another.
Tickets are $7, $5 for students, and are available at the door before the performance begins. Payment is cash only. The performance includes mature themes. To reserve tickets, call 618/453-5618.
Individuals with disabilities are welcome; call 618/453-5738 to request accommodations.
