‘HireTouch’ is in place for all student hiring
Student Employment has been using the HireTouch™ system since the start of the fall semester, and the system is the only one available for student hiring. The system eventually will be the tool and method used for all university hiring, including faculty, staff and graduate assistant positions.
Among the systems’ benefits, all information is entered once and can be used repeatedly to apply for multiple positions; information remains in the system and can be updated to reflect new information and add credentials, and provides instant access to information about positions and candidates to university administration, business offices and hiring committees.
Departments now using HireTouch are seeing improvements in the overall time and accuracy in the hiring process. To assist with the transition, training and support are available as departments begin to use the system. Hire Touch is set to begin for graduate assistantship hiring in January 2018; the timetable for faculty, A/P and Civil Service positions is not yet determined.
Instructional materials (training) for the student hiring are available in the HireTouch administrator interface, which everyone with HireTouch access, including all faculty and staff, have access to. Questions can be directed to jobshelp@siu.edu
