CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s College of Applied Sciences and Arts is accepting proposals for its annual research symposium.

The 2017 ASA Multidisciplinary Research Symposium will be Nov. 4 at the university’s Transportation Education Center at the Southern Illinois Airport.

The theme of this year’s symposium is “New Horizons in the Applied Sciences and Arts: Rethinking and Remaking Our World for the 21st Century.” This is the college’s fourth symposium.

Organizers are seeking proposals for presentations, panels, student posters, and workshops that will provide opportunities for students, researchers and practitioners to discuss the influence and impact of the applied sciences and arts on our future. Additional information, including proposal guidelines, is available at http://research.asa.siu.edu/symposium/index.php.

The symposium is open to professional organizations, along with faculty and students from any discipline or university. Abstract proposals for all submissions except student poster proposals are due no later than June 2.

Authors of accepted presentation proposals will have the option of submitting a full paper for review; top papers will be published in The Journal of Applied Sciences and Arts

New to the symposium this year will be the opportunity to view and present remotely. More information will be posted on the website.
