Media Availability – Eclipse Partners
Reporters, photographers and news crews are welcome to attend a media availability with NASA and Adler Planetarium representatives next week at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
NASA and the Adler are two of SIU’s key partners for the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse. The media availability will take place from 10:15 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, in Suites 301-302 at Saluki Stadium.
NASA representatives including Chris Giersch, project manager/host, and Blair Allen, senior producer/co-host, of the NASA EDGE webcast, and Lou Mayo, planetary scientist and co-project manager of NASA’s Total Solar Eclipse 2017, will be on hand, along with Michelle Nichols, master educator, from the Adler in Chicago. The group will be on campus making plans, performing tests and making other arrangements to cover and study the eclipse, which is expected to draw as many as 50,000 people to the campus and Carbondale.
