1967 NIT Championship team honored Saturday
The 1967 National Invitation Tournament Championship - one of the crowning achievements in Saluki Athletics history - will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 11.
The 1967 NIT champion Saluki men’s basketball team returns to campus on Feb. 11 for a special celebration. A special ceremony is planned during halftime of the men’s basketball game against Evansville at the SIU Arena. Coaches and team members will be honored, including Saluki great Walt Frazier, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame selection and member of the NBA’s 50th anniversary all-time team.
