SalukiTech offers computer repair services

The SalukiTech Service Center offers diagnostic and repair services for personal computers, technology devices and gaming stations on campus. The services are available for faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees.

The primary goal of the SalukiTech Service Center is getting the electronic devices operating quickly. General assistance includes help with software installation, email and password setup, virus scanning, and other common services. If there are charges for any work, customers receive quotes prior to work being performed.

Service Center staff are also capable of performing full-service repairs on a wide variety of devices and from an equally large number of manufacturers. More complex work includes advanced diagnostics; screen and hard drive replacement; operating system trouble-shooting and re-installation; hardware installation, and data backup and recovery services.

Scott Parrone, SalukiTech Service Center coordinator, said the staff are all computer savvy, with most pursuing degrees in the field. Most are Dell-certified technicians; the staff also goes through Apple’s Customer Service Training and additional instruction. Service is offered in about 15 different languages.

The service center is on the First Floor of Morris Library. Simple repairs and service are done on the spot if staff is available. More complex work will be scheduled and done in the Service Center rather than sending it to the manufacturer or an authorized service center. Many technology devices purchased at the SalukiTech Computer Store in the Student Center can be serviced under warranty at the service center.
